None of these help me understand what the sound is like because they’re all time-domain which runs way too fast for humans to intuit.
Visualizations in the frequency domain are a lot more natural.
A lot of them have degrees of freedom which are wasted instead of being used to convey more information. For example, the "vector scope" visualization appears to just be some sort of Lissajous figure, whose scale is the only thing controlled by the sound.
I guess you cannot see the almost-invisible borders of the images. They group the image and text together a bit better. But yeah, the design fails to be accessible in less ideal viewing conditions for sure.
